Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

BUTTER FLIES THROUGH MY FINGERS

Shirley Gothen

Butter flies through my fingers
like coagulating blood moving
like a slow-mo avalanche
Not like a waterfall, no
Those are too happy, and young
I am not young
despite my age
There are wrinkles in me deeper than skin
and there are words in me fouler than the face
I thought was yours.
