Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

DEVILS YEARN BUT MY HEART MORESO

Shirley Gothen

In church we're told that devils are
around us.
They hind behind the steeples
that cast us in perpetual shadow.
I walk only through these spots,
shunning sunlight.
Here even God isn't watching.
I know you sing in the choirs
where peals of light
like bells make your hair shine
and my eyes wet.
I'm yearning now, more than I should.
I told myself before I never would,
but then again I told myself I'd never bleed,
but bleeding is as natural to me
as breath and water.
